Armed with an MBBS doctor’s degree, a MD in Pathology and a Diploma in Pathology & Bacteriology, Dr. Avinash Phadke has revolutionized the pathology industry in India and is one of the most renowned medical professionals in Mumbai.

Founder of Agilus Dr. Phadke Labs as well as President - Technology of Agilus Diagnostics, in Mumbai, the doctor has earned many laurels and awards over the years.

Besides running a chain of his own labs, Dr. Avinash also heads various institutes in the medical sector. He is the Director of India Venture Healthcare Fund; Advisor & Mentor at APPI (Association of Practicing Pathologists of India); Trustee and member of governing board, Cancare Trust Cancer Hospital.

He is also a guest faculty member at Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and Mumbai University. He has participated in more than 400 regional, national and international conferences.

Often heard quoting Laurence Miller, PhD, a clinical and forensic psychologist, “By the deficits we may know the talents, by the exceptions we may know the rules, by studying pathology we may construct a model of health,” Dr. Avinash Phadke truly believes in the potential of pathology  in human health and wellbeing. 

Driven by the understanding of the importance of doctor-led diagnostic centres, Dr. Avinash established Agilus Dr. Phadke Labs with a mission to deliver qualitative medical guidance and counseling through his labs. It is this very vision of his that has helped him garner trust and reputation in his legacy lab.

An MBBS from Aurangabad medical College, Dr. Vandana Phadke is actually the first architect of the reputation the pathology lab has built for itself. She joined the lab even before Dr. Avinash Phadke. Having helped set up the lab in its initial days, Dr Vandana was responsible for all staff hiring and training.

Single handedly, Dr Vandana started and set up phlebotomy for the lab. Soon she built a robust team of over 50 phlebos. Today she personally supervises  phlebotomy for over 1000 patients each day. Her reputation in the area is built not only on her medical expertise, she is also known for her relationship management with patients.

Her goodwill with the patients – erstwhile and present – has become legendary in the catchment area of Shivaji park, Prabhadevi, Worli, Dadar and Mahim in Mumbai.

Dr. Vandana currently handles logistics and phlebotomy .She is also in charge of the infertility department of the lab. As she recalls, “When I started, the prevalent social belief refused to ascribe infertility causes to males. It was believed that only females were infertile. It was indeed a huge challenge to explain that males too can be the reason for infertility. Thanks to the pioneering work by my father in law, Dr. Achyut Phadke, we have managed to abolish this social stigma to a great extent.”

Dr. Vandana Phadke has also setup up staff welfare schemes to help fund children's education for all her lab staff.

The third generation Dr. Ajay Phadke is the Centre Head of Agilus Dr. Phadke Labs in Mumbai and an authorised signatory of the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). A qualified M.D. in Pathology with a merit from KEM Hospital, Dr. Ajay holds distinction in Ear Nose Throat (ENT) and Ophthalmology. He is also a gold medallist in Internal Medicine. 

Having specialized in the field of fertility, Dr. Ajay Phadke has developed highly designed, new age tests in infertility such as Sperm Function, DNA Fragmentation, etc. He has also studied newer coagulation tests i.e. thrombophilia profiles and has introduced molecular techniques for tests such as TB (genXpert). 

After studying hematology and flow cytometry for leukaemia from Tata Memorial Hospital,  the young Dr. Phadke has introduced and incorporated flow cytometry of leukemia in Dr. Avinash Phadke Pathology Labs.  He also lectures the students of Tata Memorial Hospital, and his position as a visiting lecturer at SNDT University, has been instrumental in translating his expertise to several budding doctors of the younger generation. He has also taken several lectures in general physician conferences and had presented a paper on Cardiac markers in Ischemia in APCON 2015. 

Dr. Ajay demonstrates a strong global understanding of the diagnostics industry. He believes, innovation is the elixir in medicine and is continuously striving to do the same for Agilus Dr. Phadke Labs. Quoting Yann Martel, the award winning Spanish author of Life of pi, Dr. Phadke Jr. explains,  “Under the pathologist's microscope, life and death fight in an illuminated circle in a sort of cellular bullfight. The pathologist's job is to find the bull among the matador cells.”  

“And my job is to carry our legacy forward through new-age digital tools and engagement. The purpose, however, remains the same: to provide authentic, reliable, and fool-proof analysis through ethical and disciplined testing methodology,” he adds.

With over 10 years of experience at Phadke Labs, Dr Sonal has handled almost everything in the lab at different points in time. She has been instrumental in setting up critical operating procedures. She is incredibly hard working with excellent work ethics. She sets an example for the staff by being disciplined and dedicated. She is quiet, determined and approachable. She is a people’s person and gets to the root of any problem to achieve the perfect solution. 

A MD in Pathology, Dr Alvin has over 6 years of experience in Lab Management, Lab Supervision, Implementation and Up-gradation of Quality Protocols. Quiet, congenial and affable, he is known to have a flair for dealing with difficult situations and turning them around. He has set up and managed number of new labs and hospitals during his stint at Phadke Labs. Persistence is his strong suit and he doesn't stop until a lab functions as per required guidelines. He is a certified ACCAB Lab Assessor which follows the ISO 15189:2012 Guidelines. 

With over 20 years of experience in pathology and more than 8 years in teaching, Dr Geetha has been with Agilus Dr. Phadke Labs since 2013. She is involved in day to day reporting of routine as well as specialised tests in various departments such as Hematalogy, Biochemistry, Serology & Immunoassays. In addition to having in-depth knowledge of pathology, she is great at SWOT analysis and lab process improvements. She has a knack of spotting hidden talents in people and getting the best out of them.

Dr. Pravin Deshpande has been consultant with Phadke Labs for Histopathology and Cytopathology since 2010. He has gained a reputation for experience and expertise in Oncopathology. He has Participated in national and international conferences and CMEs as a faculty, papers published in national and international journals.

Knowledgeable, hard working with a never say die attitude, Kalpana has setup a large component of the newer tests in our lab during her decade old stint with Phadke Labs. With an extensive experience of working in hospital labs, she is well versed with patient needs and ensures timely reporting. 

Minal has been with Phadke Labs for over two decades. She has grown with the company and has assumed various roles successfully. From managing daily operations to patient queries to business partnerships, she has done it all. She can handle any challenge thrown at her and is the right person to contact for a tie up with us.

With over a decade’s experience in Healthcare and Pharmaceutical, Preethy is an expert in portfolio management as well as offline branding and marketing activities. She leads speciality wise test marketing along with Corporate Branding and BTL activities at Phadke Labs. During her stint of 5 years, she has been responsible for setting up the entire marketing department and has guided us through the ever demanding world of marketing.

Been with Phadke Labs for 20 years now, Mahadev has been managing procurement of all kinds of products and services. A good negotiator at all times, he has developed the knack for getting the best material at best rates. 

Rupashree has been with Phadke Labs since 25 years and has led administrative operations of the main lab at Dadar. From patient interaction to recruitment of staff to managing timely reporting, Rupashree successfully manages the main lab that receives hundreds of walk-ins each day. She is known for her polite and easy to work with demeanour. 

Having over 23 years of experience, Reshma has managed various activities from Accounts Payable, Banking operations, MIS, Budgeting, Audits Compliances to Internal Controls in the accounts department. An accountant needs to go by the book and that's exactly what she has been doing for the last 17 years at Phadke Labs. She is a stickler for perfection and ensures best accounting practices are followed across the company.

A smiling accountant if there ever was one. Deepak has been with Phadke Labs for over a decade.  He efficiently manages sales and receivables activities along with being a mediator between operations and accounts departments. 

Sangeeta is responsible for managing client relations along with billing and recovery with her team. She's quiet, unassuming and hard working. Apt for her work profile, she is meticulous and persistent. 

With a constant smile on his face, Mangesh has been instrumental in setting up our HR and admin functions over a period of 13 years. He is quiet, composed and can deal with complex staff issues and still come out smiling. 

Sunil is one of the oldest employees of Agilus Dr. Phadke Labs and been with the company for almost three decades. With over 20 years of 6experience in Phlebotomy, he has conducted lakhs of collection visits. Sunil started off with humble beginnings in sample pickup but with his moniker "Godbole", he seemed perfect in dealing with patients. Doctors as well as patients swear by him in terms of putting even the most anxious people at ease.

From resolving queries of patients and doctors to contributing to research & creation of new tests to coordination for recruitment, Varsha has worn many hats in her 23 years of stint at Phadke Labs. She is the “go to person” when it comes to problem solving. She’s a great team worker with diligence for best outcomes.   

From handling patient and staff queries, to research on new tests to recruitment of customer care executives, Ashwin has done it all in 15 years of stint at Phadke Labs. Multifaceted with a willingness to learn and apply, he has handled many positions in the organisation. Ashwin has in-depth knowledge about the technical properties of tests and is known in the company as the encyclopaedia for specialised testing.
